Thursday Thirteen #95 - Random, Baby!

iris.jpg

1. It’s random this week because that’s were my brain is. I forgot there was a theme again this week….I’m rebeling! )

2. I had to go the doctor this week. I hate going to the doctor, so if I go, you know I REALLY must be in pain.  I hurt my back over the past weekend, I thought it would get better but it has actually gotten worse. When I started to have numbness in my foot, and the pain increased where Aleve by the handful wouldn’t contain it, I broke down and went to see my doc.

3. Doc says I may have a pinched nerve or a ruptured disc. worried But he wants to see how I feel after six weeks before we do anything but medicate. He doesn’t believe in steroids, injections, etc…which I am thrilled about because I went through all that years ago and they didn’t do a dang thing but make me gain weight! mad

4. This does put a cramp in my plans for this weekend. I have plants to plant! But I’m thinking I can get some of it done with the hub’s help! Just no heavy lifting or too much bending. Hey, you know this may not be so bad after all……I might get a heck of a lot done with this!! )

5. My sister and I were talking about what to do for our mom for Mother’s day that would be ”different” this year. We ran a few ideas back and forth, the typical like brunch or lunch. Then I remembered that the Scarborough Renaissance Festival is going on!

6. I’m so excited about going to the Renaissance Fest!  I have been wanting to go for years, just never worked it out time wise. You can bet I’ll be taking my camera, so be looking for lots of fun pics! mrgreen

7. While I was looking at the Renaissance Fest site, I found that you can have weddings there!! I have to point that out to my son and his fiancé! Talk about a fun wedding!! Of course if they don’t like the idea, Big D and I can do it if we ever renew our vows! luv

8. Miss Priss wanted some new photos, so I grabbed my camera² and we headed outdoors…I think her daddy and I did good! )

9. Speaking of photos of beautiful ladies, all the hoopla about Miley Cyrus is just a bit ridiculous, in my opinion. shrug  There is nothing racy about that photo that was taken by Annie Leibovitz. Though I don’t think it was a flattering photo of Miley, I didn’t find it one that should call for so much attention. But I guess it’s great PR, which you know that is what it was for, right? Ol’ Billy Ray is a smart guy. )

10. Did you catch American Idol Tuesday night? What the heck is Paula on? She was a bigger nut job than usual! shock I predict David Cook winner. Everyone else is sucking it up.

11. I started reading a new book series that I am really enjoying. The author is Karen Marie Moning and the series is her “Highlander” series! yum If your heart goes pitter patter for a man in plaid, with a bit of fae magic thrown in, you’ll love these books!

12. She also has another series that I just bought the first two books in but haven’t started yet. They sound really good, sexy, a bit darker and focused in Ireland! innocent

Thursday Thirteen #93 - This & That

1. I’m going random again this week…It’s been a quiet week so far here. We have been a sick household, Miss Priss and I have had a bug and then D came home Tuesday night sick. I have to say, he is the BIGGEST baby when he’s sick! roll Moaning and groaning….geez!

2. Saturday we went to the Texas Rangers game for Brandon’s birthday. It was alot of fun, though it was chilly! We got there early so we could eat at the Cuervo Club, which was really good, then went down to our seats to see the teams warm up. We were in the 12th row behind 1st base dugout, so lots of foul balls came our way! Kinda scary! I ducked my head…..alot! lol Oh and the Rangers lost. (

3. On Sunday Miss Priss, my future DIL, my sis and my niece got together for a girls day since our guys were playing in a golf tournament! My silly little niece wanted to see “Prom Night” so to make her day after we ate at Genghis Grill (which was delicious!) we went and saw this ridiculous movie! Word of advice, save your money! roll If I am going to go see a “scary” movie, I at least want to jump out of my seat, and have my heart race a little. Not once during this movie did that happen! It was predictable and boring. But it made my nieces day so it was worth it. She just owes me, BIG TIME! )

4. I just finished reading a Nora Roberts book that actually scared me!! “Blood Brother’s” is the first in the Sign of Seven series and I found it quite different from any of her other writings. I couldn’t believe that I got the willies while reading it. But I did, and that’s cool! Check it out if you like spooky stories!

5. Anyone else losing interest in American Idol? It’s lost it’s appeal to me this season. Besides, Paula is so annoying! roll

6. But I’m thrilled that Hell’s Kitchen is back!! LOVE Gordon Ramsay! Though I could never be in a kitchen with him! I don’t do well with someone yelling at me no matter how cute they are. )

7. There is a new blog that I’m addicted to, an old high school pal created it and it has been a flashback of people, places and things of the town I grew up in. Since I moved away from there when I was 18, it’s been wonderful to walk down memory lane and reconnect with some of the people I went to school with.

8. Hey, do you Twitter?

9. Just a reminder that the voting for the Photo Contest at Write From Karen starts on the 18th! Here is my entry, don’t forget to vote! Thanks!!

10. Ok, you all know I have mentioned “Share a Square” many times on here, and thanks to everyone who has contributed to it! The goal was met and then some! But now let me share with you something I think that is really neat from the creator of “Share A Square!

11. Shelly, the creator of “Share A Square” is a dreamer, a big dreamer and she has a dream about raising the funds to send kids with cancer to camp. Read all about it here (after you finish with my 13 and comment of course! ) )

12. And while I’m sharing the word, don’t forget that it’s only three months till we give out the afghans and we need those little bags to include with them for the tags!! What bags you ask?

13. These bags! Share A Square Bag Project, click the button and read what it’s all about! We are really needing some generous volunteers to donate to this great project!! It’s getting close folks and we REALLY need some bags, so what do you say, wanna be a bag lady/man?
