We had a wonderful weekend here, how about you? Friday we didn’t do as I planned, the steaks I wanted to grill came from the deep freeze that quit working earlier in the week. I thought I saved them but when I went to marinate them I didn’t like the way they looked or smelled. Into the trash went 6 filet’s.
Brandon and Brit were at the house so we sent out for Bar B-Q ! It was a nice evening. D worked on his final and was looking forward his very last day of school….ever!!!
Saturday, Big D took off for his final day of class, he had to give his presentation and take his final. While he was gone all day us girls, Brit, Miss Priss, myself and Brit’s mom and the lady that Brit nannies for met at the wedding location to get decorating ideas! Spent a couple hours there getting some great ideas, it’s going to be a beautiful wedding!!
I got a call from D telling me he was DONE!! He made a 100 on his final! He will be getting his Master’s with a 4.0! To say that I’m proud of him is an understatement!
But I’ll post more on that later.
We met the guys downtown for dinner at Cabo’s for margarita’s and fajitas to celebrate! It was a fun night spent with my family! When we got home it was still so hot outside so D and I decided water volleyball was a much needed reprieve from the heat! I beat him two games out of two!
It was so nice to have D relaxed and not worrying about studying, homework, etc…..oh I’m so glad school is OVER!!!!
On Sunday D and Brandon decided that going to play golf on the hottest day yet would be a good idea so off they went. Miss Priss had to work, so I had the house to myself. It was quite nice actually!
I played with my plants outside, then tinkered around till I got too hot and then decided I could just lodge in the pool…so I did.
Later my sister, BIL and niece popped in and when they are over, there is never a dull moment!
Let’s see, my sister thought we were having a wet t-shirt contest…(she was going to water my banana trees, and my hose attacked her!
), my niece wanted to cool off, but by only sticking her head in the pool, (she’s 12 OK! ) I did get some cool pictures though of that!
Laughing at her silliness!

The “spray!”
My BIL wouldn’t leave till he got my Wii hooked up to the Internet! I love him!! Had a great dinner at “Logan’s Roadhouse” laughing and planning D and mine mini vacation to celebrate his graduation! When we returned home we walked down to the pond and fed the fish and Zack the duck.

That’s one big Catfish!!

My sister
enjoying the view.
It was a great weekend when you spend it with the ones you love!
How was your weekend? Talk to me!

and I went to one end of the cabins while Shelly, her husband Eric, and Rebecca headed to the other end. Now, here’s where I just can’t put into words what it felt like to see those kids faces light up when they saw the afghans and bags. It was a sight that will forever be branded in my memory and heart. As we passed out the afghans and bags, I told them about the hundreds of people who worked so hard to put them together, and how each square was made by someone different from all corners of the world. They were amazed. In one cabin Miss Priss had passed out all the bags and a little boy came running over to her and hugged her while saying thank you over and over again! I was so happy to have my daughter with me to share in this experience.
Hearing this melted my heart as one teen boy was sitting on his bed, rubbing the afghan I hear him say, “It’s so freakin’ soft! Cool!!”
