1. The triple chocolate brownies I make have an extra secret ingredient; it is a secret, but if you are really nice I may share!
2. I see my beautiful flowers through my window.
3. Right now, I need a vacation!!
4. Home is where I went Thursday night; it was quite pleasant considering the hell we went through earlier in the day when we found out someone wiped out our checking account!
5. Why does my back hurt so much?
6. All I can think of is the what goes around, comes around! Hear that you stinking crooks!!
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to taking it easy with my honey, tomorrow my plans include doing whatever pops up and Sunday, I am spending Mother’s Day with my mom, sister and our families, going to the Renaissance Festival!

This week I’m doing 13 things I need or I can’t live without! I was going to do the “gross” theme, but to be honest I had a really hard time coming up with gross things, well that is 13 gross things I’d publish!

1. Carmex - I’m addicted to it!! My lips feel like the Sierra if I don’t use it!

2. L’occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream - This is the best hand cream ever!!

3. My Keurig - I absolutely love this machine, it makes the best coffee and tea!! I probably could live without it, but I’d rather not try!

4. My camera - it’s a Canon Rebel XTI and it’s become a permanent attachment to my hand. I am obsessed with taking photos of everything.

5. Books - I have to have a book to read! Right now I have five books on my night stand waiting to be read…it’s hard to decide which will be next!

6. My IPod - I use my IPod everyday, especially at night. I use it when I’m reading before bed so not to disturb D with noise while he’s sleeping! It also relaxes me. On nights I have a hard time sleeping I play one of the games on my IPod till I get sleepy!

7. Cell phone - what did we do before we had those?!

8. My computer - I would be lost without it! We are so connected through our computers nowadays!

9. My blog - Kind of goes with my computer, but I feel my blog is a part of me!

10. Beautiful perfume - It’s kind of my signature scent, I have had people tell me when they smell it, they thought of me.

11. My family - yep, I need them like a plant needs water!

12. My friends - life would be so lonely without them.

D had some digging up to do. He had actually killed three Oleander bushes (kind of hard since Oleander is quite hardy, but he managed! ). We replaced those that were dead and then he had to dig up two large bushes of Pampas Grass (they scratch you when you walk by! ), we planted the banana trees in their place.

Working hard!! He’s so sore, he’s not use to manual labor!

This little area off our patio was very crowded with Pampas Grass that actually covered up the cute fountain! D dug the Pampas Grass up (again every time you walked by it would scratch you, hate that stuff!) and we placed the potted Hibiscus in it’s place. Nice little spot now! Here’s a few photos of our work:

The Oleander is planted behind the hot tub, it’s hard to see in this photo. I’ll wait till it’s blooming really good and take a photo then!

So at least we got that stuff done this weekend, even though I wasn’t able to help much it feels good to have that checked off our to-do list. What did you do this weekend?

Clock Tower, Stephenville, Texas

1. Two of my favorite ingredients in a drink are Grey Goose & Olives!
2. My husband often amazes me.
3. You can keep doing that forever, the dog is going to start thumping his leg!
4. Take a pinch of courage, a handful of strength, a cup of love, and a sprinkle of endurance, mix it all together and voila! You have a mother!
5. If I had a yard with a garden, I would love to grow corn, black-eyed peas, okra, & watermelons…just to start with!
6. Making whoopee is best au naturel.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to soaking in the hot tub underneath the stars with my honey, tomorrow my plans include entertaining my nieces and Sunday, I want to take engagement photos for my son & future DIL!

1. It’s random this week because that’s were my brain is. I forgot there was a theme again this week….I’m rebeling!

2. I had to go the doctor this week. I hate going to the doctor, so if I go, you know I REALLY must be in pain.  I hurt my back over the past weekend, I thought it would get better but it has actually gotten worse. When I started to have numbness in my foot, and the pain increased where Aleve by the handful wouldn’t contain it, I broke down and went to see my doc.

3. Doc says I may have a pinched nerve or a ruptured disc. But he wants to see how I feel after six weeks before we do anything but medicate. He doesn’t believe in steroids, injections, etc…which I am thrilled about because I went through all that years ago and they didn’t do a dang thing but make me gain weight!

4. This does put a cramp in my plans for this weekend. I have plants to plant! But I’m thinking I can get some of it done with the hub’s help! Just no heavy lifting or too much bending. Hey, you know this may not be so bad after all……I might get a heck of a lot done with this!!

5. My sister and I were talking about what to do for our mom for Mother’s day that would be ”different” this year. We ran a few ideas back and forth, the typical like brunch or lunch. Then I remembered that the Scarborough Renaissance Festival is going on!

6. I’m so excited about going to the Renaissance Fest!  I have been wanting to go for years, just never worked it out time wise. You can bet I’ll be taking my camera, so be looking for lots of fun pics!

7. While I was looking at the Renaissance Fest site, I found that you can have weddings there!! I have to point that out to my son and his fiancé! Talk about a fun wedding!! Of course if they don’t like the idea, Big D and I can do it if we ever renew our vows!

8. Miss Priss wanted some new photos, so I grabbed my camera² and we headed outdoors…I think her daddy and I did good!

9. Speaking of photos of beautiful ladies, all the hoopla about Miley Cyrus is just a bit ridiculous, in my opinion.  There is nothing racy about that photo that was taken by Annie Leibovitz. Though I don’t think it was a flattering photo of Miley, I didn’t find it one that should call for so much attention. But I guess it’s great PR, which you know that is what it was for, right? Ol’ Billy Ray is a smart guy.

10. Did you catch American Idol Tuesday night? What the heck is Paula on? She was a bigger nut job than usual! I predict David Cook winner. Everyone else is sucking it up.

11. I started reading a new book series that I am really enjoying. The author is Karen Marie Moning and the series is her “Highlander” series! If your heart goes pitter patter for a man in plaid, with a bit of fae magic thrown in, you’ll love these books!

12. She also has another series that I just bought the first two books in but haven’t started yet. They sound really good, sexy, a bit darker and focused in Ireland!

Now the game was not a nail biting drama type of game (they lost ), but I have to admit, just walking up the dang bleachers was enough drama for me! I don’t do well with heights. Especially heights when I can see down below me. I had made it up to the top and sat there but swore I wasn’t ever moving again! That was till nature called, and refused to be silent! If I wasn’t so freaked out, it would have been a great comedy act, but I literally was going down the bleachers inch by slowly inch holding on for dear life to the side rail with both hands! After what seemed like eternity, my feet landed on solid ground, which they NEVER left again!

Since the game was the very last game and it was Senior night, there is a question if this was a Senior prank, or just a fluke….but whatever it was, it was hilarious! Check out what happened during the 5th inning…

After all that, we headed to one of our favorite Mexican restaurants with the best Margaritas and enjoyed lots of laughs with family and friends! Nice way to end a day.

Saturday, I was up early as Brandon left to go play golf with his future FIL and he woke me up at 6:00 am! A bit early for a Saturday, but oh well. Lots of coffee…..lots.

We attended my little cousins 5th birthday party out at a park early in the afternoon. The last time I saw her she was still a baby when we moved to Georgia! Such a cutie! She reminds me so much of her mommy who I remember at that age. Her mommy was a flower girl in D’s and my wedding!

Was it bad that I really and I mean really wanted to sneak into the bouncy house and jump when no one was looking?

Saturday night we went to a BarB-Q at a colleagues of David’s with about 20 other couples. The chefs were Puerto Rican, and let me tell you the food, it was delicious!! I can’t remember any of the names of the dishes, (blame it on the wine) but I have requested a recipe for the rice dish they had!! It was divine!

Sunday we drove about two hours to meet D’s parents for lunch. And then when we left them we headed to the casino…..so to say the least, I never did get any of my planting done this weekend! I’ll have to work on that this week, weather permitting!
