Crashes, Dances and Comedians..Oh My!

What a weekend!! It’s been one of those that I can honestly say, I am completely worn out!! Friday night we had friends over for pizza and games….it was a late night of hilarious hi-jinks and very serious battles of the sexes!! mrgreen

Saturday we got up, my niece had spent the night and she wanted to ride the 4-wheeler so Miss Priss took her out on it. Where we live our house is at the end of a cul-de-sac with no houses on either side of us, perfect for riding the 4-wheeler. But, they took it down to the other cul-de-sac where you can go down and get out in a more open field. They had been gone about twenty minutes when the phone rings and Miss Priss is yelling in the phone to get to the cul-de-sac, the 4-wheeler has tipped over and trapped my niece under it. I freaked!!! I was still in my robe, but yelled for D and we hopped in our car and drove down there as Brandon and Brittney took off on foot. When we arrived, my niece had wiggled her way out apparently only her foot was wedged in-between a rock and the 4-wheeler, she was shook up and covered in stickers. Then I see my daughter, well, all I see is her top half! She’s holding up the 4-wheeler so it doesn’t fall back on her!! shock Side note here: D ran out so fast he didn’t put on shoes, rocks and stickers were everywhere. D grabs the 4-wheeler which at this time is leaking gas, and trying to gain enough footing to upright it, but can’t so I call Brandon on his cell and tell him to run faster because dad is stuck now too!! LOL Now I have gotten Miss Priss out, she’s so shook up but trying to be brave for the sake of her cousin, but you can see she is in a lot of pain. She couldn’t walk on her leg at first, but she’s able to limp now. We finally got everyone up the hill, into the car, and back to the house….I was a wreck! Brandon was glad no one was seriously hurt but really glad his 4-wheeler survived! roll

My niece’s ankle is sore and she twisted her side so she had some aches and pains. She’ll be sore for a few days, but I’m so thankful she wasn’t seriously hurt!! (I did not want to have to call my sister with that kind of news!! shock ) Miss Priss is walking with a limp, we may have to go get her knee checked out if it’s still bothering her in a day or so. Both of them are covered in scratches from the stickers and rocks. I have a feeling neither one of them will be on the 4-wheel any time soon!

Last night we went out for my sister’s birthday and what a blast we had!! party First we went to our favorite restaurant, Reata’s and had the best dinner! We got a private room so it was so nice to be able to visit with everyone and just enjoy ourselves. Oh, and if you ever ask my sister to say grace, be prepared!! If you have ever seen National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, you’ll understand!! It was one of the funniest moments when she stood up and started pledging allegiance to the flag and we all stood up doing the same….believe me, you had to be there!! razz

Clark: Since this is Aunt Bethany’s 80th Christmas, I think she should lead us in the saying of Grace.
Aunt Bethany: [turns to Lewis] What, dear?
Nora Griswold: Grace!
Aunt Bethany: Grace? She passed away thirty years ago.
Uncle Lewis: They want you to say Grace.
[Bethany shakes her head in confusion]
Uncle Lewis: The BLESSING!
Aunt Bethany: [they all pose for prayer] I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands/ One nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
Clark: Amen.

After dinner my niece and nephew came back to our house with Priss to play Guitar Hero, and us adults went to a comedy club. It was hilarious! I laughed so hard that today my sides actually hurt. I hadn’t been to a comedy club before, and after last nights adventure, I’ll be going back. It was a blast. We even went dancing after the comedy club…my sister, a friend and I tore up the dance floor….well, maybe not tore it up, but we still have some smooth moves!

It was a very fun night and I loved spending it with my sister and her hubby, it’s been way too long since we were able to do that!! We got home pretty late, but I ended up staying up till about 3 a.m. with the kids playing Guitar Hero!! That game is addicting!!

So today I’m beat, thinking I need a nap but know I won’t take one. I’m sore from dancing and laughing so much, but shoot there is a lot worse things to be sore from. Just ask Miss Priss! -P
