My grandparent’s have been married for 65 years, this weekend. To celebrate our family has gathered to honor them. Last night we were sitting around talking and looking through old photos, someone asked my daughter-in-law who has only been married two months if she recommended marriage. (She said yes) I was asked then, and I replied that after 25 years, I definitely did. The best answers came from the most experienced,  my grandparents…I asked my grandfather, if he would recommend marriage, he thought for a moment, then replied with a chuckle, “well after 65 years we have had 55 good years!” With my grandmother coming back, “I can only remember 50.” They are the greatest!!

Happy 65th Anniversary Grandpa & Grandma! I love you!

It’s my little sister’s 4oth birthday and I’m going to tell you like it is…she’s Forty and Fabulous! She’s my best friend and I’m proud to call her my sister.

Have a wonderful birthday sis and remember your new mantra…”I am forty and fabulous, I am forty and fabulous!”  It worked for me! Love you!

This is the ”aftermath” of what happens when you make family pose for photos outside when it’s freezing! Why we waited till one of the coldest days, I don’t know, but I couldn’t feel my fingers!  I got some hilarious shots though!

Have you ever returned an item to a store for a refund after having used it? The only time when something broke after the first use. Hate when that happens.

You are going out for the evening. If your partner objects to what you are wearing, would you change your clothing? After 25 years of marriage, I trust my husbands opinion very much. If he doesn’t think I look my best before we go out, WHEN I ASK HIM, then I’ll change.

What item that you don’t currently possess would you most like to have in your home? Not an item, but I would love a maid, especially right now!

Well, we made it through the weekend!! Our future DIL graduated from UNT on Saturday, we are very proud! We rented a wheelchair for Brandon so he wouldn’t miss this big day. It was quite the experience! I became a mother pit bull as Big D wheeled him through the crowd and Miss Priss stood guard when we got him parked. Thankfully, we made it without anyone bumping into him.

During the ceremony we were looking at the tops of caps, a lot of them were decorated with initials or a saying, this one I think says it all!

After the graduation Big D and I headed to the check-in at the hotel for his companys Christmas Party. But more about that later….

That is the chocolate heaven my family brought home yesterday from Cold Stone Creamery! OMG! It was amazing and rich and chocolate!!

Thanks for the birthday wishes, I had a great one. Big D gave me a gorgeous diamond cross necklace, (I’ll have to take a picture of it later), I got a beautiful Waterford crystal cross ornament from Miss Priss and Brandon and Brittney played it smart, they gave me a iTunes card ( I spend a fortune on iTunes!!) It was a wonderful birthday!

Today is my sweethearts birthday, he’s older than me now. (Well, just by three months but I like to rub it in these three months, know what I mean? ) If I could put down in words what this man means to me I’d be a millionaire, as my words would be so poetic that I’d be the next author on Oprah’s book club!  He is not only the man that I have loved for the last 25 years, but he’s been my best friend, he’s the guy who surprises me when I think I can’t be surprised anymore, the one who just rolls his eyes when my sister and I get together and revert into fifteen year old girls, and he’s the one that has been the greatest father to the two most beautiful children. Well, not children anymore, young adults now, and they would never have become wonderful adults without the guidance they have received from a loving, strong, supportive dad.

So I just want to say, Happy Birthday to the man who still makes my heart go pitter patter everyday, you rock my world!

See, what I mean…(this was hilarious, his tassel kept flying in his face! I have many photos of that! ) His parents and mine came to watch D walk across the stage, it meant alot to him to have them there, especially since the ceremony was at 10 in the morning!!

And yes, I couldn’t stop smiling….

Great job honey, we are all proud of you! We celebrated with family at Reata, with great food, drink and lots of laughs…something we always manage to do when we are together.

The rest of my weekend has been spent getting ready for mine and D’s vacation! We are leaving Tuesday morning for New Mexico, for the Sandia Mountains! We will be staying at a resort, and doing a lot of sightseeing as neither of us has ever been to New Mexico before. I’m so excited and can’t wait to take tons of photos!

I did get a new phone this weekend, a BlackBerry Curve, which I LOVE! I’m now able to Twitter via mobile, get my email, surf the web and I haven’t tried yet but I think I can post on my blog from it. I can access my blog, but haven’t tried posting! It’s like a mini laptop! Perfect for vacation.

I’m halfway through Eclipse, which I have found very hard to put down!! I did pick up Breaking Dawn yesterday so I can just glide right into that one. I’m still amazed at the writing in these books. My inner 17 year old shows itself while I’m reading them….anyone else experience that?
