An Old Friend

A few months ago I revisited an old friend of mine, one I hadn’t seen in a long time, my sketch pad and pens. It was rocky at first, lots of ripping out paper and crumbling it up, trying again. But that’s it, I tried again and with each try my hands, my memory and my imagination started to remember how to create again. Since then, I’ve picked up my pens, markers, pencils and explored different types of drawing, enjoying some, loving others. But what I’ve found out most importantly is that I should have never stopped drawing.

I’ve shared some of my drawings on FaceBook and recieved lots of praise, which I was completely awed by. Then something happened that I never expected, a friend referred another friend to me to do a custom drawing for a wedding present, and I got paid for it! It is things like this that reassure you that you must be doing something right.   Will my work ever be shown in some chic little art house, or say in the Louvre ) , no…but that’s OK, I enjoy it and if a few of my friends do too, I’m happy!

It’s fun doing art work. What kind of things are you using to do your art? I’m glad you’re having fun with it. )
