Photo Hunt – Pink

This week I’m a little late getting my photo posted, but I have a good excuse. ) I got home from the hospital, my second stay in just two weeks, and so now I’m just trying to catch up on my blogging inbetween resting. This weeks theme was easy….Pink, though not my favorite color, I do tend to photograph a lot of pink flowers and such so here’s a collection of some of my favorite “pink” photos…..

In other news, it’s so wonderful to be home!!! My bed beats that hospital bed 100%! Really missing not having our big 4th of July party this year, but we’ll make up for it next year with one that will go down in the history books!!

Happy 4th Everyone, may it be a safe one for you and yours. Thank you to all those who have given us our freedom! )

A Road Block

Well after having had a bump in the road, this past week I had hit a road block with my recovery. I woke up last week with some draining from the main incision. My surgeon had me see a wound care specialist and go through wound care treatment. But when the cultures came back it wasn’t good, I had a staph and a strep infection. How I found this out though was a bit shocking, I received a phone call Monday morning waking me up from sound sleep by my surgeons nurse, she informed me that the Dr wanted me at the hospital at 1 that afternoon so he could perform another surgery to clean out the infection and attach a wound VAC. I.was.in.shock!!!!! So just 2 weeks after my first surgery I was rolled into the OR once again. I wish I could say I was tough and brave but I can’t, I literally have cried more in the last few days than I have in years. I know it’s because I’m exhausted, physically & emotionally beyond belief. I also didn’t expect this, having a tube coming out of my stomach for the next 4-6 weeks. But I do know I have some of the greatest family and friends who are taking care of, praying & being there for me! So right now I’m back in the hospital, actually just a few doors down from the room I was in 2 weeks ago, I’m getting wonderful care by compassionate nurses, but I really would love to be home, in my own bed!

I’ll keep you posted…..
