Well things were going so well…..then bam! I woke up very early yesterday morning with my main incision draining, a lot. We called the surgeon’s office when they opened and they had me come right in. Long story short, I have an infection in the incision which he cleaned out and packed…(very painful and unpleasant!) and then sent me for a CAT scan to make sure everything on the inside was OK, and thankfully it is. He has reassured me that this is not uncommon with this type of surgery, that it’s just a “bump in the road” and a nuisance, which I am finding it’s more like a road block! I am going to see a wound care specialist tomorrow. Things were going so good…..
