4. Thoughts of the movie Twilight fill my head right now…it was good! luv
5. I wish I could wear 6 inch stilettos again…but, it just ain’t happening! But man, I love stilettos!
6. ”Twelve highlanders and a bagpipe make a rebellion.” - Scottish Proverb
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to a girls night with Miss Priss, going to Celtic Thunder concert, tomorrow my plans include leaving for San Antonio for a romantic weekend with the hubby to celebrate our 25th anniversary and Sunday, I want to fill in the blank! shy

Wanna Play? Click here!

We went to see the midnight showing of Twilight last night, it does not disappoint! We lucked out and befriended the manager of the theater, he gave us a heads up on a theater that was opening up with no one in line…we were in and seated right away…though we still had a three hour wait till the movie started! roll

But as always with our group, we passed the time having fun, taking discriminating photos (don’t worry I deleted those sis innocent ) and just laughing, laughing to the point many potty runs were needed! embarrassed

Not going to say anything about the movie so I don’t spoil it for those who want to see it. Just one little bit of trivia, keep your eye out for the author, she makes a cameo appearance! I spotted her!

So did you see Twilight yet? What did you think?

Oooh, Celtic Thunder, what a great idea, sounds like fun!
What is Twilight? I’ve seen this pop up on a few blogs now, I may just have to go and look it up on IMDB cause I thought it was a TV show.

I guess I’m going to have to read the book. It’s been on my shelf for months now.
Glad you enjoyed the movie!

You will LOVE the Celtic Thunder performance. I GUARANTEE it. Remember, is is NOT a “concert” like you are used to “hearing” instead it is a aural and visual extravaganza — composed of a mixture of the glitz of a Las Vegas show, the glamor of a Broadway Musical, the masterful lyrics of a Shakespearian play, the wonderful music and singing of an Italian opera, combined with a digital recording of a genuine Irish thunderstorm, mixed in with ’specially crafted drums designed to convey the Celtic Thunder sound (each drum was custom built to ensure that special sound is heard — and each drum also has an individual mike so that the sound of each can be mixed together with the others to achieve that special sound).

And then there is the lighting, which is designed by one of Europe’s best “masters”, and the costuming carefully tailored to match the personality of each vocalist to the lyrics of each song — the guy’s suits are tailored by the same guy who custom design’s Bill Clinton’s suits.

The Music Director, Phil Coulter, composed the symphonic arrangements to ensure that each song conveys packs the emotional punch he wants, and he knows what he is doing, as he has received over a hundred silver, gold, and platinum disks to prove it. The Producer, Sharon Browne put the whole concept together masterfully, and you will see how carefully she and Phil hand-picked each of the guys and songs to convey that emotional journey you will experience.

Listen for the wholesome songs about marriage and children, set in the language of a seafaring sailor, the gutwrenchingly sad song of a father to his son about the breakup of his marriage, the heartbreaking ballad of a son lamenting the death of his father before he could say goodbye, and then there are the requisite love songs and Irish anthems mixed with “pop” songs you will recognize.

A wonderful show, reminiscent of the best of the Beatles, only BETTER. Have fun.

1. The last band I saw live was Celtic Thunder, of course.
2. What I look forward to most on Thanksgiving treating a homeless person or a serviceman to a decent home cooked meal in a family setting.
3. My Christmas shopping has been replaced by visits to nursing homes — some of the patients there haven’t had a visitor in 20 years, and there is no one to read the news headlines to them, or listen as they tell stories from their youth, or to call a relative for them and let them talk via speaker phone, or find out what happened to their best friend, or write a letter to their grandchildren, or even turn the channel on the tv set from the soap opera they nursing assistant left it on while SHE was watching, to the channel the PATIENT prefers to watch.
4. Thoughts of the impact of poverty on little kids fill my head, as I watch them go without meals because their parents lost their jobs or their mortgage, and the food stamp application line runs down the block.
5. I wish I could wear a smile like those multimillionaire bankers on tv. Instead, I wear a worried look on my face as I ferry another poor person to the hospital because they don’t have insurance to pay for preventive treatment from a doctor, or the $800 for an ambulance ride to the ER.
6. Bagpipes are OK, whistles are fine, but violins are better.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to writing a review about the Celtic Thunder experience, and tomorrow my plans include going to church.
8. The last time I went to a Celtic Thunder show, I took along a black guy from the “projects”. I led him to believe it would be a regular “concert” that “white people” go to. He was expecting to hear hillbilly or headbanging music. He had never seen anything like this show in his life, and was AMAZED that he would enjoy such a perfomance. The whole time, he was making comments like “WOW” and “I CAN’T BELIEVE IT.” And “How can they harmonize so great?”
9. Next time you go to a concert, bring along some high schoolers and expose them to some “good music” for a change. They won’t know what it is until they experience it.
