We had a good weekend, my 12 year old niece was over so Friday we spent the day swimming and being girls of leisure. We all had a “pool incident” though. My niece hit her head on the step swimming underwater…she had goggles on.
My daughter was doing a handstand in the pool and hands slipped and she banged her head on the bottom of the pool.
So I am being such a supportive & loving mom and aunt, calling them both klutzes as I step in the pool and my foot goes out from under me and I fall on the edge of the tanning ledge!
I have had a broken tailbone when I was pregnant with Miss Priss…I swear I cracked it again! I guess it was karma for making fun of those two!
Since my niece was at the house, we had a “Jonas Brother’s, Camp Rock” movie night…”Like ohmigosh, they are so amazing”
I can’t tell you how many times I heard that! She is more then slightly obsessed….but we love her anyhow.
Saturday my sister, BIL and nephew came out to pick up the niece and they spent the day with us. The kids wanted to fish. We have a pond in our addition that is stocked, so we walked down there with them and fed the duck. Yep just one duck, Zack, who’s not a Zack as Zack has built a nest and laid some eggs!
So I guess Zack has had some company?
Zack the Duck, who needs a new name!
Anyway as we fed the duck and fish we noticed that there were some BIG catfish in the pond! My nephew got so excited and was determined to catch one of them. Well, he did…but the catfish broke his line and swam off with the bobber attached to it. So we could spot the catfish wherever he swam.
We felt sorry for the big ol’ catfish with the bobber attached to him, so off we went to Wally World to get stronger fishing line so he could catch it again and remove the bobber. Of course the girls had to get new fishing poles and “cute” bobbers. This spur of the moment fishing had become a major fishing adventure!
Someone needs to tell her the ponds the other way!
But the kids were having fun, and my sister and I, well we just laughed a heck of a lot! Long story short, my nephew did catch the catfish with the bobber and he removed it. So all is well with the fish world again.
Sunday was one of those hang around the house days. D had some studying to do, I worked on some odds and ends. Mid afternoon it was pool time and a mean volleyball game. Brandon and D versus Brit, Miss Priss and I. Battle of the sexes!! It got rough, and the guys cheated. That’s all I’m saying.
We ended the day with some good Mexican food at a local place. It was a pretty good weekend, all except for the really sore rear-end I have.
So how was you weekend? Talk to me!

Hope you are better….that Karma thing really bites. So glad the catfish was saved the embarrassment of having a tracking device attached. Stop by and check out our Bronx Zoo pictures. Stay cool.

We had a great time! Love the picture of Missy facing the wrong way fishing! She is definately blonde to the root. Hope you don’t mind, but I am copying that one for blackmail material.

You had a busy weekend! Boy, I’d think twice about getting in your pool, though
Sorry you guys all had mishaps and I hope you’re feeling a lot better now.
Very humane fishermen you all are - that was nice to rescue the catfish and de-bob him, LOL! Did you guys catch fish “for real”, as in, to eat?! I’d probably opt for the Mexican too. We need to hit our favorite local Mexican eatery soon, I haven’t had guacamole in weeks!
Hope you have a great day and week!
