Weekend Recap

pinkroses400.jpg

How was your Easter? Ours was wonderful! We spent the day over at my mom’s and step dad’s house along with my sister and her family. We didn’t have your “traditional” Easter meal though, my sister smoked ribs, sausage, and chicken that just feel off the bone. Talk about some good eats!

Enjoying lunch with the family!

After we rested a bit from all that food, they brought out the Wii!! There is nothing more fun than seeing grown men compete on a Wii!! Well, maybe there is. It maybe seeing two grown sister’s competing, boxing at that!!  lol  It was a tie match for the record! ) (Sorry not posting pictures of that event!!)

Cousins, aren’t they a cute bunch! )

The day ended with me having a reaction to my solar nails. Now I have worn solar nails for years, but I went in for a fill on Friday and noticed that my fingertips started to burn slightly and itch later that evening. It happened the time before, but not as bad, I had asked if the tech had used anything new, she said no. roll Well, to make a long story short, I started noticing that not only did my fingers really burn and itch but they had developed blisters on my fingertips!! My hands were swollen and red, started to really hurt so my sister went and got some acetone for me and we spent about an hour getting my nails off. I have to say, I was pretty miserable, it felt as if ever nerve was on fire and I was about to jump out of my skin.

Pretty, huh? See the blisters under the nails…they HURT!

I took some benadryl, put some cortisone cream on my hands and prayed for the best. By the time we got home, I took some more benadryl and went to bed. This morning my hands look and feel so much better! Couple little blisters, but the swelling and redness is gone. I’m really curious what they used on my nails. I have never had a reaction like this in all the years I’ve worn them.

Have you ever had a bad experience with a nail salon? What did you do about it?
