Ahh, good news…boy we’ve needed it!! Friday when I got to the hospital the doctor was in talking to my dad and his wife, so we had to wait in the hall. The waiting killed me, by the way. After the doctor was done, and let me tell you he was in there a LONG time, we went in the room and found out what he said.

The news was what I already knew from the nurse, but I found out my dad was never told he had a stroke till then. He had a bleed in his brain stem, but it was one that the doctor was confident that medication would be the answer. So NO surgery…that was wonderful news. Dad was very emotional, and had I never cried at the hospital but kept strong, comforting him, but I sure let loose when I came home. It’s so hard to see your strong father sob because his right hand or leg won’t do what he wants it to do. They have begun physical therapy already and will do some speech therapy also as his speech is slightly effected. BUT, the great news, the doctor came in Saturday and told him he can go home!!

So he’s home, resting in his own bed, able to watch TV in his own recliner and much happier today. He has a long road ahead of him, but we know that he’ll do just fine. I am just so thankful that his stroke was not any worse than it was. It could have been….he ignored the symptoms for a day, so scary!

Now on to more good news…….

I took delivery on my new car on Saturday!!! It came in early and I was ecstatic! I’m in love….really, really in love with this car…that’s never happened before!! So many gadgets, the navigation is wonderful, it emails me, it loves me back…I’m telling you, it’s a match made in heaven.
