What A Year!!

It’s that time of year when we reminisce of all the things we have done or experienced in the past year. And what a year it’s been for us!

We’ve experienced some major changes in our lives this year. One of the biggest ones would be Big D accepting a promotion with his company which meant moving from Georgia where we had lived for three years back to Texas, our home state. It was a bittersweet move for us, as we loved Georgia, we made some great friends there, and it was a beautiful area plus it was just a great place to live. But as you know you go where the money takes you and it brought us back to Texas and back to our families. We found a beautiful home in a smaller town outside of Fort Worth, and are enjoying our time back in the great state of Texas. (If you didn’t know Texans are very proud! smug )

Another big event in our lives was our son became engaged to the best girl ever! It’s funny because we’ve known her for many years, and they have liked each other for just as many but were just too shy to do anything about it. But I have always said that they would end up together, so it goes to show that mother does know best! innocent

We’ve taken some awesome trips this past year! New York City was a dream come true for me as Big D surprised me with the best seats in the house for the Broadway show “Wicked!” That was a night to remember! luv

That whole trip was awesome! From the carriage ride through Central Park to standing in Time Square, to driving through Manhattan (my man can drive anywhere!!). We can’t wait to return to the Big Apple!!

We also went to Washington D.C. to attend an Award Banquet for D’s company, but since I had never been there before we stayed an extra couple days to see the sights. This was another trip that we made some great memories and some really sore feet!!

This year also marked the twenty-fourth anniversary of my marriage to the most wonderful man in the world. luv Not too shabby if you ask me!

So that’s just a few of the highlights of 2007 for this family, there were a lot, more than I could ever write on here. I’ve written about many through the year so if you are a regular, you have already shared them with me! I’m excited to see what 2008 has in store for us. Miss Priss will be going college, Brandon will be making wedding plans, D and I will be making our plans for our 25th anniversary trip to Ireland, so there is a lot ahead!

So now on to Resolutions…I’m not big on making resolutions, as I never tend to keep the ones I make. embarrassed I always make the same one, to lose weight…the never-ending struggle. But this year I do have a huge incentive in front of me for this resolution, my son’s wedding!!! (I refuse to be the grooms fat mom!! -P )

Here’s what I want to accomplish in 2008:

♥ I resolve to lose weight. (I CAN do it!)
♥ To be content with myself.
♥ Take a class in photography! (I gotta learn all the tricks to my new camera!)
♥ To exercise at least three times a week. razz
♥ To be a better blogger… (visiting and comments included! -) )

So that’s mine….are you going to help me keep them? mrgreen What are your resolutions if you have any?
