Thursday Thirteen #69 - The Random Files

tt_pink.jpg

1. I had to go back to the dentist this week…I HATE going to the dentist. The only thing good about the dentist is the nitrous! mrgreen I had two fillings replaced and a crown replaced. My mouth is sore and whenever I have dental work done it triggers my migraines. So I’ve been having killer migraines. Not a fun week so far.

2. Big D is in Texas this week, again. He said it’s been raining cats and dogs there. He had a golf tourney while he has been there, work related, (tough job, huh?) they didn’t think they were going to be able to play but the rain quit long enough for them to get a round in. I’m glad I didn’t tag along on this trip…no fun if all it’s going to do is rain.

3. Lazy Daisy had her knee surgery (she was hit by a car driven by a little old lady!) and all went well!! Go over and send her some love!

4. We’ve been looking at houses online…it’s exhausting…it’s hard to find something that has everything you want!

5. We are planning a trip to Savannah for a weekend. I want to visit there again before we move. It’s such a beautiful city and I have to eat at The Lady and Son’s at least once!!

6. Miss Priss has decided what she wants to do with her life….finally! She wants to go to culinary school and become a Chef. She is looking at Le Cordon Bleu in Austin and if she does well and proves to us that she really wants to do this and shows dedication we have told her that we will discuss sending her to Le Cordon Bleu in London for two years.

7. Speaking of Miss Priss, she is obsessed with watching cooking shows, Gordon Ramsay, Jamie Oliver, etc…but that’s ok with us…we benefit from it! She tries out the recipes she sees on us! mrgreen

8. Bubba fractured his nose Sunday. How you ask? By jumping into the pool. roll My dear son decided he wanted to go swimming Sunday afternoon so he and Miss Priss went over to the pool. Miss P said he was on the second step and dove in, my dear son wasn’t aware that he just dove into 2 feet of water! shock When he came up Miss P said his eyes were huge and there was blood running down his face. I kind of freaked out when I saw him, it was already bruising and he has a big gash across the bridge. He’s learned a lesson though….never dive into a pool unless it’s a diving pool! lol

9. Has anyone see Evan Almighty yet? I can’t wait to see it! We plan on seeing it this weekend! It looks hilarious!

10. On the subject of movies….I cannot wait for Harry Potter Order of the Phoenix! Only 12 more days and counting!! I went to the midnight showing for “HP and the Goblet of Fire” it just so happened to fall on my fortieth birthday. That was a blast! You can read about it here! Don’t know if I’ll make the midnight showing but I’ll be going the opening weekend!

11. I found a spot on my carpet where my dear cat peed…(she wasn’t so dear at that moment when I found it mad ). Does anyone know of a good treatment or product that will get rid of the stain and odor? I looked online and saw a product called Urine-Off, anyone use this before?

12. Big D called, he’s found the house for us! roll Mind you he just looked at the outside. But he said it’s a beautiful house with a gorgeous pool, on an acre lot. Guess that’s one on our list of houses to see! I’ll be so glad when this moving business is behind us! -P

13. I have been a crocheting fool! If you haven’t heard about “Share a Square” then click the banner below and read all about it! You’ll be glad you did! innocent

A round of Golf, and it’s a work thing??
I know all about that (member of the International Turf Society, a lot of the times, we we have a conference, there is a Golf tournament somewhere along the line in the purpose of research of course!!!).
I hate going to the Dentist, I went 13 years without going, and I only had to have a clean which infurated my wife!!
Our list is up if you want to have a look…
Great work !!
Bernie

I’m with you on both of those movies - Evan Almighty looks absolutely hilarious!

As for the pee spot - when my dog pees or the cat vomits I use some PetZyme product that we get from the pet store. It’s supposed to break down all organic materials.

We just had a horrible experience at the dentist last night. In fact, I just blogged about it. Haha.

I saw “Evan Almighty” and laughed so hard. I thought it was so funny, even if the critics tore it to pieces.

Also, I am almost finished reading “Harry Potter and The Order of the Phoenix.” I am trying to finish it before the movie comes out! I better hurry!

You’ve reminded me I need to find a new dentist. I don’t dislike dentists but the one I’ve been going to is a little to violent with his metal probe on my teeth…

shrug My in-laws swear by the urine be gone thing but I’ve never tried it. Happy TT.

I bookmarked that spot for crocheting those granny squares. I would love to do that too. Also you know that I live here in Savannah. I would love to meet you if you would like to meet downtown or anywhere for that matter. Just let me know. As far as getting cat pee out…I have tried and tried and tried with our cat Simon. He does it all of the time and finally I just had to put down plastic by the cat box. He always goes outside of the box. I have used a lot of things…One thing is called Folex instant carpet spot remover. It says it is supposed to remove urine and pet accidents. I would try that one. I think I got it at Walmart if I remember correctly. Hope this helps. I know how hard this is to clean. Believe me. Sandy

Well, if you would have joined your hubby, we could have found a nice dry place and enjoyed dinner! We need to make sure that happens when you come out this way.

I bought some spray for the cat urine at the local feed store, it seems to work.
Your son was soooo lucky! Had to have been painful even still.
I hate the dentist also, but will need to have a crown by the end of the summer, just putting it off…

Great list! I hate the dentist also, but was forced into root canal and a crown a few months back. Very traumatic!

Moving…done it a few times and very stressful. No matter how many perks, money, and assistance from corporate it’s stress.

Evan Almighty comes highly recommended by my sister. She said it’s true to the story (biblically) and she even cried in a few scenes.

Regarding the contest, we had a winner earlier this morning, GC. Did you see her entry above yours? You would have won if you were like twelve hours earlier though. I will personally invite you to the next one in the future. Thanks for stopping by and have a great summer!

Blessings to you on the SAS!

See how late I am in getting to visit? It’s almost Thursday again! You have been pretty busy. You are going to have to eventually tell me where you are going to be in Texas! Sorry about your son! Glad he didn’t get a concussion or something. But, Miss Priss cooking is a wonderful thing! So is that crochet that you are doing mrgreen
