New York City, now I understand why it’s called the city that never sleeps!! Talk about a fun time, boy did I have one heck of a fun time! My dear hubby made sure that it was a trip that I would remember! He is truly my knight in shining armor, no doubt about it!
I arrived in the Big Apple on Wednesday around 4:00. There was the chance my flight was going to be delayed because of weather, but thankfully my flight was in that little window of clear weather. After my flight arrived flights were being cancelled. I was lucky! Of course, it started to rain cats and dogs after I arrived, but I didn’t care, I was in NYC!!
Big D picked me up and we headed to our hotel so I could “freshen up.” Since he was there on business we were meeting some people for dinner. We went to this really nice Italian restaurant, and for the life of me I can’t remember the name of it, but it was fabulous! Our waiter with his thick accent and in his tux was everything I expected of a Italian waiter in NYC and he was hilarious. He got a kick out of my southern accent, and proceeded to joke with me through the night. Believe me I gave as good as I got! I order a Caesars salad that was the best I ever had, and fettuccini alfredo that all I can say is, YUM! Didn’t have room for dessert, but one of our dinner companions ordered cheesecake and we shared it, it was out of this world and just topped off the meal. Of course I had cappuccino to finish things off. I felt like I couldn’t move but it was one of the best meals I have ever had.
After dinner we decided to drive into the city to just “check it out.” Big D can drive anywhere and he proved it once again! We crossed the Queensboro Bridge into Manhattan and drove into the heart of the pulsating city!

It was so exciting to see the hustle and bustle of the city! When we passed Bloomingdales I called Miss Priss to rub it in…she was just a little jealous at that point! We drove around just for a short time looking around. I was amazed at the sea of yellow…taxis that is! Since D had to go into work the next morning we headed back to our hotel. But I got a nice little taste of NYC for my first night.

My next post will be about my exciting night on Broadway and how my hubby made one of my dreams come true.

A sea of yellow taxis…I love it. Pulsating city. I almost feel as if I’m there. I can taste the pasta now.
