­My friend Shelly at This Eclectic Life tagged me with this Chinese Freeze Tag. I’m supposed to tell 10 interesting facts about myself. This can be something shocking or anything that may become a surprise to people! After reading her 10 things, I’m afraid mine will be quite boring! But here goes, and don’t say you haven’t been warned!

1. I have this OCD problem that I can’t go to sleep or leave the house unless I have checked the doors that they are locked, made sure the stove is off and all the burners are on the off position (this is even if I haven’t used it), lights off, and nothing plugged in that shouldn’t be plugged. This little routine has to be done not once, not twice but three times! On a good day! There are times when I check four or five times. It’s my fear of fire I think. But you bet your britches it’s a safe house!

2. I’ve had plastic surgery. It was to repair my shattered nose that got in the way of a line drive softball. The x-ray showed my nose looking like grinded up meal….not pretty. I was 13, and had to have emergency plastic surgery. Thankfully I had a wonderful surgeon who repaired my nose to it’s original form! I happen to like my nose!

3. I am deathly afraid of snakes! So much so, I can’t even look at them on TV or in books. I have never been so scared of anything as I am snakes. I had someone tell me it was a penis phobia….I don’t think so, I like penises.

4. When I was a kid I convinced my little sister to get into the clothes dryer. I told her it would be fun and that I would only turn it on for a second and then let her out. Well, she should have known better, but it wasn’t that long….that I remember anyway.

5. I dated an Italian boy while in high school who’s uncle was “connected.” Growing up in Chicago you always knew someone who was connected one way or another! It was an interesting few months.

4. As a teenager on Halloween I helped pull a huge prank at the famous “Resurrection Cemetery.” I stood at the gate late at night and pretended I was Resurrection Mary….if you have never heard the ghost story, go here, and read it…it’s a good one! I stopped traffic that night, and even spooked myself! I only stayed at the gate for 10-15 minutes, but that was long enough to get the attention of many who passed-by! Wonder if any believe they saw Resurrection Mary that night?

5. I’m a homebody…I can stay home and be very happy. There are times I can go days without stepping out of the house.

6. But I’m a social creature too, as I love to shop, go out to eat, and interact with friends. So it all balances out!

7. I’m a total Sci-Fi geek…my family just doesn’t get it.

8. I am a Harry Potter addict fan and I’m proud of it! I’ve read all the books twice, and seen the movies, more times than I care to admit. I am anxiously awaiting movie five, “The Order of the Phoenix” that comes out July 13th, that’s 65 days to be exact! And then just one week later the 7th and final book “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” will be released! Yes, I’m 42 and I’m a HP addict!

9. I’m not a morning person. I do my best thinking at night. If you need me for anything it’s best to schedule it after noon….before noon, I’m not worth much. I do my most creative “stuff” late at night, when everyone else has gone to bed, it’s quiet and there’s no interruptions. Great time to create! The only one to bother me is Rocky and she usually is pacified with a pet or two.

10. I dislike hypocrites. I’ve seen my share, and the older I get I’ve learned that I don’t have to tolerate them. With age comes wisdom.
