What a wonderful day that Big D and I had! We drove to Jasper and had lunch at a really nice little restaurant called, “The Carriage House.”

The food here was wonderful, I had a Greek salad and Big D had a bowl of chicken noodle soup and we split a Monte Cristo sandwich! Boy was that good! And the latte I had, hit the spot! So with our bellies full we were ready for the mountain!
We drove the short distance to Amicalola Falls. The drive there was beautiful.

The colors are gorgeous this time of year and I was so excited to see the wonderful palette that is being displayed for our pleasure!
To get to the waterfall, we had to hike. I wanted proof that I hiked, so here it is!

(Ok, so it wasn’t as bad as it sounds!)
And it was so worth the hike!!!

Just one of the many pictures I took of this beautiful fall!
On our way back down this trail I spotted this up in the trees….

It’s a very old 40’s or 50’s truck that is stuck up in the trees and the trees have actually grown around it. I found it quite interesting, so I had to snap a picture to share with you all!
We then ventured (we cheated and drove) to the top of the fall for this magnificent view!

We spent some time at the Lodge, and had an early dinner in their restaurant which was wonderful with it’s breathtaking view. It was such a beautiful way to spend a day!
When we left the mountain we saw “Burt’s Farm” and decided we needed to stop and pick out our pumpkin! We bought three actually, a big one and two smaller ones, plus a jar of apple butter and a big cup of hot apple cider to go for me! It was definitely worth the stop! We even have a picture to commemorate our visit!

It was a beautiful day and I loved spending it with my best friend. I’m exhausted though and I’m off to bed. I’m still not 100% well, but it was great to get out in the fresh air! Hope you all have had an enjoyable weekend!

Now if Demi Moore would have “an epiphany”, divorce Ashton, marry me and we’d run off and open one of those restaurants and well…you know the ending!
