We had a wonderful trip! It started out over a week ago on Friday morning when we left at 5:30 in the morning and headed to Galveston to meet the family. Our cruise was leaving from there and since everyone else lives in Texas, we drew the short straw for this trip and got to make the drive. (They get to drive next time!) We made it to the ferry to cross over to Galveston around 8:30pm. Miss Priss was thrilled, it was her first time back in Texas since our move, two years ago.

It was a looooooong day! But I was wired, I hadn’t slept in over 40 hours! Very rare for me not to sleep in the car, but I didn’t. We met everyone at a great Mexican restaurant called “Salsa’s” and I enjoyed my first really good Mexican meal in over a year! Boy, was that good!! My diet was blown from that moment on!

It was also nostalgic for me and Big D to be in Galveston on the boardwalk again, because that is where he proposed to me 23 years ago.

Even though I hadn’t had much sleep, I was up at the crack of dawn. I very gently woke Miss Priss up…..as in jumping up and down on the bed yelling, “we’re going on a cruise, wake up sleepy head!” if that counts as gentle. She did not appreciate my enthusiasm.

We spent the morning walking the boardwalk, and just killing time till we were able to board the ship. It was a beautiful day in Galveston, but I was anxious to get out of there!!
