Saturday we went to Helen, Georgia, a very neat town in the Blue Ridge Mountains north Georgia. It is a re-creation of an alpine village complete with cobblestone alleys and old-world towers and some of the neatest little shops to browse in! I found the greatest shoe store with a sale from heaven! I bought three pairs of designer Italian shoes, each pair were ranged from $59 to 69 and they were on sale for……are you ready for this? $10 a piece!! It made the trip worth it for me just for that sale!!
Ok, back to my story…..the town is adorable! Horse drawn buggies going down the cobblestone roads, music in the air, and the scent of the bratwurst was yummy!! Every year they have Oktoberfest, so we’ve decided to go back for that!

The Chattahoochee River runs right through the town and tubing is a big attraction there. That looked like a lot of fun, it’s something we plan on trying too!
Helen is a place we will go back to visit. Nice place for a day or a weekend. The in-laws liked it, though they were not able to do a lot of walking. FIL is having knee problems and looks like he will be having to have knee replacement surgery. This is why we nixed the trip to Gatlinburg for the weekend. We knew there would be way too much walking there.
We are headed to Nashville on Monday. I’ll be taking a laptop with me so I’ll check in when I can. I have also postdated some posts, Wordless Wednesday, Photo Hunt, etc….I just love WordPress!! Ciao for now!

Wow, I haven’t been to Helen Georgia in years….I’d forgotten the charm of the city. Say hi to Elvis for me. Miss ya! Glad you are having fun…btw, I know we are both from Ga. but since you’re my sis, Miss Priss hooking up with boy wonder would make ‘em kissing cousins wouldn’t it? Just a thought.
