This, that and a little more…

Another week….and a busy one at that! Today, Miss Priss started her first full week at work. She’s only working six hours a day, but I do expect her to be zonked out when she gets home. This is a new experience for my girl. She looked so cute in her khaki’s, blue Petco polo and her beige new Sketcher’s, so ready to take on the retail pet world! If she was nervous, she didn’t show it. I have to say, she is my stone cold kid when it comes to nerves. She’ll just go in and never let on what she is feeling. She gets that from her daddy. The house sure is quiet, something I’m going to have to get use to.

Speaking of her daddy, Big D flew into Texas on Sunday for business. He was able to have lunch with my dad, step mom and the whole crew after he got there. I found out that my cousin who lives in Idaho will be in Texas today, so he’ll be able to see her. I am quite upset about that. I haven’t seen her in years. If I had known in time, I’d have flown down with him. When I talked to him last he mentioned that it was extremely HOT in Texas….that is one thing I don’t miss I have to say!

Bubba cracked me up last night. He bought two pairs of Polo jeans, the same size, same cut, or so he thought. He only tried on one pair in the store. He wore one pair yesterday and washed the other. Last night he comes down in his boxers, holding the pair he washed. He looks at me and says, “I shouldn’t have washed these.” And then proceeds to “try” to pull them on. I laughed so hard at the boy! Remember in the 80′s when we wore the tight Jordache jeans and we had to lay back on the bed with a hanger to zip them up, well that’s pretty much what the boy had to do to get them on! He finally succeeded, and man were they tight. I told him they made his butt look good! ) But that didn’t convince him to wear them. Poor guy, he thought he was going to have to cut them off. Miss Priss has a new pair of Polo jeans by the way.

I still haven’t found a dress for the wedding we are attending this Saturday. Knowing me, I’ll spend Friday shopping….nothing like waiting to the last minute, but that’s when I do my best shopping! I am a champion shopper you know. )

Tuesday I have a very important appointment. I’m having a Diva lunch with Jane of Cozy Reader! Not only will we be catching up on all the latest gossip and girly news, but celebrating her birthday that was this last Saturday!! I can’t wait!

So that’s an update of what is going on at my garden. It looks like it’s going to be a wonderful week!!

I hope she had a great 1st week of work. I think petco would be a fun place to work. I don’t know if you have a Cold Water Creek Shop in your area, but I love their dresses. They have an online shop but you’d pay a fortune to get it here in time. But see if there is a shop locally.

Oh tell her Hi for me. Sounds like a lot of fun! Good luck on buying a dress. I had a rough time when one of the kids got married and like you waited to the last minute. Didn’t do too bad!

It must be a nice feeling that your little girl is now a big girl and a working girl at that. That must be a great achievement.

Oh, am I glad the days of lying back on the bed to get the zipper up are gone! I couldn’t stand it now, I would look terrible, too, lol. I am sure your girl looks cute no matter what she wears! Thanks so much for you info about those wall paintings! and have fun, fun with Cozy Reader, how great you can meet again.

Hope your son learned a big lesson…never dry jeans.lol Don’t you just hate shopping for those things?? The size means nothing. You just have to pick a bunch and spend and hour in the dressing room.

    Take care,
    Connie
