1. It’s been a interesting week! We had our new furniture delivered, which it looks absolutely fabulous I must say, but it was a nightmare dealing with the delivery people and the store all day! One thing after the other and to say that I was not a nice person at one point, is probably putting it mildly. When one tells you they will take the old furniture and move it out, and the other refuses, we have a problem, a BIG problem. Especially when I am home alone. After a few heated phone calls, they moved the old furniture out to the garage. I thought my troubles were over.
2. But no…..Then when they start to leave they left my tables and lamps in their boxes. It was stated that the delivery persons would get rid of all packaging in the folder we received upon leaving the store. But then again, I hear those words again, “We don’t do that.” By now I more than steamed, and I refused to sign the papers he shoves at me. But at that moment my Prince Charming, (Big D) walks in the door, and takes care of matters at hand. I retreat to the kitchen and warm my now very cold lunch. By the way, they didn’t unpack the boxes. But the store has now given us a store credit to compensate for any “inconvenience.”
3. But does the nightmare end…NO! As we unpack my lamps, my beautiful floor lamp is missing it’s shade!!! So once again Big D picks up the phone and calls the manager, again….(this is about the 5th time) and by now, patience is gone.
4. While he’s on the phone, Bubba sits on the loveseat and he notices that the right-hand arm is loose, not a lot, but enough that we want it replaced. So he tells this to the manager also. So now after phone call after phone call, more than enough frustration, and hair pulling it looks like it’s resolved. They are replacing the whole set, loveseat, couch and recliner so the leather will be sure to match and my lamp shade is being shipped overnight by UPS. If I didn’t love the way it all looks in my living room I’d have let them take it all back! But it looks so dang good! LOL
5. That was on Monday, also that day my Miss Priss got her very first job! We are so proud! She is now an employee with Petco. She’s very excited, and seeing that she loves animals this is right up her alley. We’ve just warned her, there’s no bringing home pets!!
6. I’ve been listening to be BEST CD I think I have ever bought in my life! It’s the soundtrack for “Finding Neverland” and if you like something to relax to, this is the CD for you! Leszak Mozdzer’s piano piece’s on the CD are something that just take my breath away. One of my favorites, is “Neverland – Piano Variation In Blue” click the picture and sample the music!
7. I got a surprise call from a very good friend Tuesday night, she is “da bomb!” She makes me laugh, oh she makes me laugh! But more than anything, she is a wonderful friend and that is priceless! Friends are good things to have!
8. We have so much going on right now, two vacations to prepare for, company coming, and it’s the beginning of August already!! Where does the time go? This summer is flying by!
9. Doing great on my diet! It’s been so easy, matter of fact, sometimes I feel like it’s too easy! I feel so good, and I’ve noticed my clothes are starting to feel looser! Love that! And Big D is doing great on this too, he looks so good! We’re both going to have to buy new wardrobes! What fun!!!
10. My dear friend over at “Musings of a Mad Mother” has a post that will really make you hug your kids tighter! Pop over there and give it a read!
11. Lightseeker shared this on her blog the other day, and I wanted to share it with you all because it moved me so much. Be prepared, you’ll need Kleenex!
12. Do you know that you are suppose to walk at least 10,000 steps a day? I’m not even close to that yet!! I’m really not liking my pedometer!
13. The answers to questions asked about this little guy I featured in my Wordless Wednesday….

He’s quite the polite little bunny, he hasn’t gotten into my flowers, he eats the grass and birdseed that falls down. I throw him some carrots and lettuce occasionally also. We have an understanding that if he stays out of my flowers, I’ll reward him.
He doesn’t seem too frightened of me, I took this picture only five feet from him. He has a few buddies that come to visit also, but he’s my daily visitor, I can always look out sometime during the day and there he is. Oh and I’ve named him, “Spot.” Odd name for a bunny you say, but he has a little white spot on his bottom, so he’s been christened “Spot!”

New furniture!? I wish I could get some new stuff…oh, well.
I’m still dieting, but I haven’t lost much. Once the kids go back to school, I’ll have more opportunities to exercise.
said:
Isn’t that the worst when bad service spoils such a lovely treat? I hope they make everything right… Happy TT!

Congrats to Miss Priss on the job! Petco sounds like a fun place to have a first job. Lots of cute puppies to pet
And two vacations? Lucky! Sounds amazing! I hope you enjoy both of them.

Wow… I have a lot to say. Shocker!

First… what unfortunate furniture drama! I’m sorry you had to go through all of that. But I’m glad you love the looks of it all
Second… I just read the post from “Musings of a Mad Mother”. OMG! I wasn’t expecting that. Bless her heart! Thank you for sharing that!
Third… The “I Can Only Imagine” with Dick and Rick Hoyt is wonderful! I added it to one of my posts talking about how bad things have been going for me physically. The video is wonderful… like the song was written for them!
Fourth… My dog, Snickers, would love to chase that little bunny!
Happy T13!

Gee,this post was full of emotion for me. I’ve been on the end of a furniture deal gone bad so I can totally relate. And then the video, and the bunny and the link. Gosh….how will I ever recover?
Thanks for such a great read tonight! =o)

My TT is up.

Glad the diet is going well. I think it would be so much easier to diet here if it weren’t winter!
Bummer about the delivery guys. Every now and again you get goods ones but sometimes…
said:
Cute bunny! I have heard to many stories about furnature deliverers that end in favorable outcomes. I usually pick up my own furnature at the store, as I have a van, I can do that.
My list is up
said:
So glad you are doing so good with your diet! should read your prior posts to find out about it, I am sooo behind because of the time off!
sorry about your furniture, it seems it happens all over the world…Happy TT!

Yeesh! Buying new furniture is worse than getting rooked by a new car salesman, apparently. Glad to see you survived the torment.
And thanks for the tip on the CD; I enjoyed the movie, Finding Neverland, very much.
Oh yeah, and congrats on the weight loss. Way to go!
I’ve got a T13 up this week, too. Hope you have a grand Thursday!

As to the furniture troubles … I had something similar happen to me when we bought our living room set. Don’t worry, it will all be recitified and you will be happy.

Congrats on the diet! I know it’s not the easiest thing to do! Happy T13!
said:
Wow, that was a lot of things.
Heavy sigh at the furniture problems, isn’t that typical. Glad it solved at last though.
Congrats to Miss Priss new job that really seems to suit her and that you’re doing so well with your diet. I admire on that one. It must be tough to be on a diet. Don’t know if I could make it. No need of it, but IF.
Ah, the pedometer, I wanted one a long time ago, just to see how much I walked – I had a dog that demanded a lot of exercise back then and it would have been interesting to see…
And the bunny I envy you – how cute isn’t that!
said:
Sounds like your life is as busy as mine right now! Dealing with furniture stores can be at times nightmarish. Glad everything turned out for you.

What a hassle on the furniture, but I hope it’s all worked out now and you love it. Have you posted a picture?
I’m trying to wear my pedometer every day and get 10,000 steps. Easy if we go walking or I go shopping, harder just being around the house.
Love the bunny, Spot is cute

What a furniture nightmare – I’ve had the same experience with Sears and Ethan Allen. Doesn’t matter if it’s low end furniture, or top of the line, when it comes to delivery, they all stink! Hope it gets resolved soon! Happy Thursday!!
