A New “Do” Will Do Ya!

Have you ever just felt like you needed a change? Felt like you were in a rut? Felt frumpy? Well, that’s how I have felt for the last few weeks. All that and more. One of the things that was really bugging me was my hair. A woman and her hair, it’s such a strange relationship isn’t it? We have bad hair days, and when that happens, look out because it ruins the whole day, at least I know that’s the way I am. My hair has always been one of my best features, or so I thought. I took great pride in my hair and always took my time fixing it so that every little strand was in place. Vanity, sure. Pride in the way I looked and the way I presented myself for my spouse and family. Is that wrong? I don’t think so.

Well back to my story, I was tired of my current “do” it was getting old and taking much to long to fix and even after I would fix it I wasn’t happy with the results. You know that feeling, when it just isn’t good enough anymore. Plus there was more to my feelings, I have been feeling down, as a dear friend has told me it’s from the “empty nest syndrome” I’m experiencing.Though my two kids are still at home, I have noticed a huge difference lately that they have become self sufficient, in other words, I’m feeling un-needed, for the first time in 21 years. I’m not adjusting very well. I am extremely proud that they have become self sufficient, responsible, productive young adults, don’t get me wrong. I’m just feeling a little sorry for myself and this is my blog and I can do that. )

So guess what I did Friday? I went and got my haircut……..short…….real short!! I love it! I feel sassy! I feel feisty! I feel sexy! See what a haircut can do? It’s amazing!! Big D loves it, told me it gave me even more attitude! So look out! Bubba was the first to see it, and if he doesn’t like it, you’ll know. He actually helped me pick out the style, so if it didn’t turn out…I was blaming him! But he loves it. And when Miss Priss got home from the beach, I made a grand entrance and her mouth dropped, then…..she told me how great it looked and how much she liked it. Even though I did it for myself, I am glad they all like it! So here are some pictures, a before and an after.

I’m telling you, if you need a pick me up…just go do something daring, like chopping off your hair! It works! Besides, theres the added benefit, it takes me about five minutes to fix it! I’m really digging this “do!”

I absolutely love your hair!

I have always been crazy with my hair. Every time I got depressed I got a new cut. Well my hair has been very short for a long time…not that I am depressed all the time (lol)…I just got used to the easy care.

Enjoy your new look!
Take care,
Connie

I really like your new do…very becoming! *s* I have let my hair grow way too long & would like to get it cut & may do so soon…although my daughter likes it long.

Love your new do, dear YR! But truthfully, you look gorgeous in both pictures! The important thing is how it makes you feel! I think it is fabulous!!! Hugs to you, dear Yellow One…
Glad you liked those Roses…I thought of you, I must say…!

Wow that looks great, it really does look easy to take care of as well )
My mother always had really short hair, for that reason alone I am loath to ever do the same thing.

LOVE IT! So sassy!!!

Once a year I get a wild hair & get my hair done. This year I went & got low & high lights which desperately need redoing. But it does but a spring in one’s step to do something daring & different! -)

Sexy, sassy & feisty, amazing what a DO-over can do for ya ) . I heard a stat that said women change their hair style once a decade! I have no idea if that’s accurate, but if we only realized the power of the “do”, I think it might happen a little more often.

Visiting from the Chicks…I’m trying to meet everyone over the next few days (weeks?).
