I love shoes and handbags, I mean I really love them!! It’s almost called an obsession….well, that is what my husband calls it anyhow. I call it love.
This love started with my very first job, I was a shoe sales girl! Talk about the perfect job for a shoeaholic. I wasn’t even sixteen yet when I interviewed for the job, but I won over the manager with my charm and he hired me. The shoe store was actually two stores in one, they shared the stock room, but were two separate stores. One was a higher price store that carried name brand shoes and the other was more lower priced. I loved working the brand name store, because the commission was so much better! I was pretty good at selling shoes, but I spent most of my paycheck on guess what? Shoes and handbags! You name it, I had every color shoe - red ones, black ones, white ones, pink ones, spectators pumps, do I need to go on? Because I can you know. The higher the heel the better back then…nowadays, I wish I could wear those heels again! It’s tough getting older, but shoot I will always have a great handbag to make up for it!
My love for shoes and handbags has continued, though my taste has matured. So I may not be able to wear the 4 inch heels that I once wore, but now I can afford the designer bags. So things even out, don’t they? And now when I shop for shoes, I am very nice to the salesperson, because I have been there, done that. It’s was my first job and one that fed my addiction!
And always remember, if you are having a bad day go shoe shopping!

Shoes were always something I did not care to shop for. As long as I had one good pair of tennis shoes and one good dress pair I was fine. Even now I have only the minimum! Now my mom on the other hand bought shoes constantly, so often that she would come home sometimes with a pair she already had. And since we always wore the same size I always had a stash to play in!! Great memory you shared!

It’s always nice to have a job doing what you’re obsessed with!

I once had a thing for shoes, but then the styles changed and I find them to be too ugly. I prefer simple, slip-on style shoes with no heel and comfortable soles. I’m pretty boring when it comes to footwear!

I’ve never been a ‘bag and shoe’ girl….but I can see the appeal.
With me its books and films. I used to have stacks of videos, shelves and shelves of them.
My MM is up finally, Rosie - blogger is a bit of a brute today, isn’t it??

You’re just like my daughter. She has a huge collection and one of these days, she’ll have to have a room built just for them. LOL
Have a great week ahead.

I really am amazed at people who really go for bags and shoes. I wasn’t that kind even in my younger years. I was just contented with few shoes and bags. The only time I let go of them is when I can’t use them anymore.
My Monday Memories is up too.
