Monday Memory - I Ain’t Fraid Of No Ghost!

Did I ever tell you about the time we ate at a haunted brewery?

Ok, we had this fabulous vacation on a cruise and on our way home we took a detour through Savannah! Now, if you have never been to Savannah, Georgia let me tell you, it is a must see! It is one of those towns that looks like it has frozen in time! I love it!

As we were driving through one of the main drives I noticed a building that I recognized…so as one who excites easily I holler, “Hey I know that building!” Scaring everyone in the car! LOL

          This was the building:

The Moon River Brewing Company which I knew about because I saw it featured on the Sci-Fi channel show “Ghost Hunters.” Apparently not only does this brewery have quite the history, it was built in 1821 as the City Hotel. Not only was it the first hotel in Savannah, but it was also home to the first branch of the United States Post Office in Savannah, as well as a branch of the Bank of the United States. It must have been convenient having a hotel, post office, bank and bar all under one roof…not only all that but it has a resident ghost! So we had to eat lunch there! Just to say we did! I’m happy to report not only is the food really good, we had no encounters with any ghostly beings! )

My friend Judy & I even ventured downstairs where there had been sightings of a dark figure…..yeah I was all big and brave, snapping pictures.

That is till I went looking behind the black curtain in the corner…..

….that’s when Judy decided to scare the living daylights outta me! Yeah I’m not so brave after all! LOL Ghost or no ghost….I had enough, I was ready to go back to reality and the safety of Big D, who by the way, would not venture downstairs with me, my hero! Big chicken!

So that was our adventure at the Moon River Brewing Company. If you are ever in Savannah stop by there and have lunch or dinner…and see if you can spot a ghost!
