Thirteen Things About my Cruise!
1. My Bahamas Cruise is in one week! We will be leaving on the morning of the next Thursday Thirteen so this is the last one for me until I return!
2. We are going on this cruise with four other couples, all from our church.
3. We will be having one day in Freeport, and one full day in Nassau. We will be able to sightseeing during the day in Nassau but that evening will be special for us, because we will be guests that evening at a convention for our church! What an honor!
4. We have an upgraded room….one with a ocean view! I am excited about that! Look for lots of pictures when I get back!
5. So my diet will be blown on ship….oh well, I hear ship cuisine is awesome and I’m not going to deprive myself. I’ll just get back on track when I return. My diet counselor agrees with me!
6. Looking forward to dropping a few coins in the slot machines! I haven’t done that in a long time! Maybe even try my hand at Blackjack…who knows!
7. Also looking forward to the shows on board, I hear they can be good also. I’ll let you know. LOL
8. Can you tell I’m just looking forward to this whole thing?! Yes, I am excited!!
9. Going shopping Saturday with Big D for Cruise wear. Need a few more things and as you know a girl can’t have too many clothes! Besides, I really don’t have anything for warmer weather, and it’s going to be in the 80′s in the Bahamas! So I MUST shop, right? ;)
10. I’m praying I don’t get motion sickness!! I do have a nausea medication to take with me just in case!
11. Actually this cruise is coming at a really good time…I need it, Big D needs it…it will be really good for us. The kids aren’t happy because they aren’t going, but this one is for us! :)
12. Anyone who has been on a cruise and want’s to share some advice with me, please do!
13. And finally, thanks for indulging me, my excitement is probably annoying, but just think….next week I’ll be gone!

I went on a cruise through the Caribbean several years ago. If the boat is big, don’t worry about motion sickness – they have stabilisers so you won’t even notice the boat listing (though my sister was with me and she gets pretty motion sickness, and felt like she had a mild hangover the whole time on the boat…). No need to over-eat – the boat I was on served 12 meals a day, including a midnight buffet which had a huge ice sculpture each night. A must to visit, even if you don’t feel like eating. And you won’t be hungry THE WHOLE TIME you’re on the boat. I really hope you have good weather – we had overcast, windy, rainy weather the whole time, except for when we were on land. I’m looking forward to seeing your pictures when you return.

I’m so jealous! I’ve been on a Carribean (sp) cruise twice and loved it. It’s the best vacation! Have fun and take lots of pictures.

My cruise advice is if your table in the dining room is next to the window, be sure you sit facing the same direction the ship is going in!!!! It will keep you from getting nauseous!

Vacation is definitely not the time to worry about your diet. You’ll be running around doing so much anyway that hopefully you’ll burn off those extra calories.
Vacation is the time to enjoy yourself! Have fun! I don’t blame you for being excited!

I have done a couple of cruises and all of those good things you mentioned are so true.
Be wary of the food. There is so much good stuff to try. Weight gains tend to happen without thinking.

I’ve been on an Alaskan cruise and a river cruise in Europe. Absolutely the best way to travel and relax. You’ve brought back some great memories.
