Thirteen Random Things
1. I am addicted to American Idol this season! I’m loving Taylor Hicks…what a voice!!!
2. I have bruised ribs….they hurt! How did I get them you ask? Funny story, Big D gave me a big bear hug and proceeded to pop my back, which I happen to like. But this time I kind of turned to the side when he squeezed and BAM! We honestly thought he broke a rib. I couldn’t breathe, and the pain was intense. So I went yesterday for an x-ray just to be sure and thankfully no fracture! Just bruises…except, I told Big D that if there was a broken rib, jewelry was going to be in order!!! Poor guy, he feels so bad.
3. Our Bahamas cruise is in exactly three weeks from today!!!! I can’t wait!!
4. So far my favorite part of the Olympics has been the Ice Dancing. Loved watching the couples dance on the ice….it was magical, well…..except that one night when everyone was falling!
5. I joined this Paperback Swap yesterday and already have sent out my first book and requested three!! Love this!! If you are a reader and have a bunch of books laying around check this out. If you decide to join, say YellowRosesgarden referred you, please!!
6. I just finished this book, “Wicked, the Life and Times of The Wicked Witch of the West“ by Gregory Maguire. I loved this book! I’ll never look at Oz the same again!
7. I’m now reading “Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister“ by the same author….so far it’s as interesting as the last book!! It’s the retelling of what we know of Cinderella’s story. These books are by no means, for children by the way.

9. This movie will be out on May 19th….”The DaVinci Code“….Looking forward to this one!! Have you read this book? Another good book! Can you tell I read alot? LOL
10. We went to “The Cheesecake Factory” last Saturday night and it was the worst experience…can you believe that? Not only did we have to wait for over an hour for a table, but when we were seated, we had the absolute worst seat in the place! It was a booth, by the front door…mind you it was one of the coldest nights in Atlanta and we actually had to eat with our coats on it was so cold. So we ordered cappuccinos, when we got them, lukewarm….by then I was so over it! They did bring us “hot” cappuccinos but we were miserable….so we took our desserts to go! It’s a shame, cause I LOVE Cheesecake Factory! Maybe next time will be better!
11. I have something that is really puzzling me…have you ever just not known what to say or do? Well, that’s where I’m at with this one thing in my personal life. If I say something I’m afraid it will be taken out of context and if I don’t say anything then it will be taken out of context. Know what I mean? Sometimes I think people make life too complicated.
12. Big D is in Texas on business, so he went by to check up on my dad. He called to say he looks great! I can’t say how happy I am that my dad pulled through this whole thing without any complications. God is good!
13. And finally, after several weeks of not being able to play, I’m back!!! Woo Hoo!!! I missed the Thursday Thirteen and all of you, did you even notice I wasn’t playing? LOL

I heard that the Wicked book about Oz was really good! I have to put a reminder to get that somewhere on my desk. The Da Vinci Code I loved! I am really looking forward to it coming out! Yay on the cruise!! My husband and I are going to Maui in 5 weeks, fun stuff!

I enjoyed your list. I thought I was unique in loving yellow roses above the red ones most people seem to prefer. Sorry about the ribs - maybe the discomfort won’t last long. I was unfamiliar with Gregory Maquire. I have written down the name and intend to spend some of my $80 credit at the used book store on these if I can find them; althought the paperback swap site also sounds like a good option for finding them. Come read my 13 - you might get some relief from your number 11 with the “assume good intentions” activity. sorry, I didn’t mean to write so much.

Ok, hugging is good, bruising ribs…not good. I definitely think jewlery is in order here! So glad your dad is progressing well. You absolutely have to read the sequel to Wicked (Son of a Witch!) As far as the iffy situation…pray about it….God will give you wisdom! Yeah, Taylor Hicks is one of my favorites!!! Love him! Don’t you just love paperback swap. I sent out 2 books yesterday and I’ll be sending out 2 more today. I have 3 books on the way, even one for hubby. He’s loving it as much as I do.
I can’t say I’m jealous about your cruise coming up. After my experience with Whale Watching last week, being on a boat is far from my mind. I get queezy just thinking about it. I know a cruise is a whole different story but still…..

Absolutely agree with you on #11. There is no pleasing some people so I find the easiest thing to do is just be me. If that doesn’t work, well then, bite me. lol
The paperback exchange sounds like fun!! I have a ton of them to get rid of. I’ve been hosting a little scavenger hunt on my blog to 1. expose people to some really great blogs and 2. to get rid of my books. lol However, if I join the club I’ll be sure and drop your name!

I love American Idol, too! Addicted to that silly show. I liked Ace and Taylor. I couldn’t believe the judges liked when Sway sang in a falsetto - I was embarrassed for him. Wow, your hubby is kinda strong - I’m sure you’ll laugh at this later, when you can, ha ha. Love Buble by the way!

I’ll be skipping the Davinci movie which insults and denies most of what I believe as a Christian. However, I don’t expect any beheadings or theater burning.
