My Dad & His Heart

After doing my Thursday Thirteen on what I’d love to have if I were a Billionaire, I can honestly say that if I could do anything in the world, I would buy my daddy a new heart.

Today he had his angioplasty, it had been postponed from last week. But when they went in they found that he had too much damage, 90% blockage in two arteries and severe damage in a third, to continue so they stopped and contacted the heart surgeon. He is scheduled for open heart surgery on Tuesday.

I still can’t believe that “my dad” is having heart surgery! He’s never been sick, strong as an ox, and well, this has been quite a shock! I will be flying to Texas on Sunday to be with him. Please keep my dad in your thoughts and prayers. And if you don’t mind, remember me too.

*hugs* Your father and your family (and you!) will all be in my prayers. My father has had 2 open heart surgeries (6 bypasses once, 3 bypasses once), so I know your concern. It’s scary to go through, but your dad’s heart will be “new and improved” when it’s all said and done, and he’ll probably feel much better, too. Hang in there.
