It’s all over, the red carpet and the acceptance speeches…which I have to say were not disappointing. The thing about the Golden Globes I like is that everyone seems more relaxed, now it could be all the alcohol that is floating around, but it does seem to make for a fun, relaxed atmosphere.

Ok, now the gossip……
-
Reese Witherspoon looked gorgeous, but what’s up with her husband? He seemed really obnoxious, didn’t he?
-
Johnny Depp has his pirate look going on…..I find it rather sexy.
-
Gwenth Paltrow really needed to do something with her hair! She looks beautiful pregnant, but please, don’t forget the hair!!
-
Joaquin Phoenix disappointed me….I wanted him to get up and say, “Hello, I’m Joaquin Phoenix” in that awesome Johnny Cash voice. He let me down.
-
Steve Carrell from “The Office” acceptance speech was the best of the night!
-
Drew Barrymore needed a bra.
-
Anthony Hopkins is a class act.
-
Jonathan Rhys-Meyers, winner for lead actor for TV mini series, “Elvis” seems quite arrogant. Just my opinion.
-
Melanie Griffith just looked tacky…botox, silicone, tattoos…..tacky!
-
Mariah Carey at least covered up her thighs for this show, better than she did for New Years Eve. Someone needs to have a sit down with that girl and talk style.
-
George Clooney……Dreamy.
Best Dress of the Night, Jessica Alba
Check out Matthew Broderick in the background checking her out…LOL
So what did you think?

Interesting list. I agree that Drew Barrymore needed a bra!!! It was embarassing.
I also found it interesting that Brokeback Mountain won so many awards (I don’t know why I am surprised). I think Hollywood definitely has an agenda that they are putting out there.
Steve Carrell’s acceptance speece was hysterical, I agree…best of the night.

See, I knew I didn’t have to watch it. I got a nice little recap right here. Thanks!!

I only watched the redcarpet before hand and the after party stuff on E !
The actual awards didn’t screen here LOL
I knew Brokeback would sweep up. It is SO political , all of the award shows are.

I didn’t watch the Golden Globes, but I was happy to see that Hugh Laurie won for House. That is such a great show and he’s an awesome actor.

I always enjoy the Globes! Forme, it’s the most fun Awards show…no doubt the wine flowing probably loosens everybody up…and I like that it combines both TV & Film..it’s like a BIG Renunion for all the people there…
As far as the Awards themselves…I don’t always agree with The Foreign Press; They are an entity unto themselves and they are INTERNATIONAL, which makes for a very interesting mix of Awards, and they go their own way on many things, which is a good thing, I think.
As far as “Broakeback Mountain” is concerned, it is a beautifully realized film and deserves all the accolades it is getting…And I see nothing political about it, myself, just work that deserves to be honored! If you haven’t seen it, do go…it is a very touching and meaningful film….
