| Thirteen Things I Am Thankful For That Happened In 2005
1. Big D was offered a big promotion within his company and he accepted! With the promotion we ended up leaving Texas and moving to Georgia. Though we hated leaving our families, we love it here and are very happy in our new home. 2. Bubba enlisted in the Air Force, but due to blowing his knee out (for the fourth time) during boot camp he was given a medical discharge. We believe God has different plans for him than the military. Though we were extremely proud of him enlisting we are thankful that he is home safe and sound for that this mom is very grateful. 3. Miss Priss adjusted very well to our move and has blossomed here. She has made some wonderful friends and has a close-knit group that she relies on. It’s amazing to see the change in her. Very thankful for this and for having such a wonderful daughter! 4. I have lost 85 pounds in this past year during my weight loss journey. It’s not over yet, but it sure is a good start. I have to say I’m proud of myself and for the first time in many years I can look in the mirror and not go, ” UGH!” 5. Our trip to Chicago, seeing family and friends that I haven’t seen in over 20 years! Showing my family where I grew up. It was a great trip and I’m thankful that we were able to take it. 6. Our new church and church family. What wonderful people they are!! 7. New friends we have made since we have been in Georgia. They say there’s nothing like old friends, but there’s also nothing like making new friends. The ones we have made here have made our move so much easier. 8. My health. Just a year ago, my health was horrible, two years ago it was worse, but today I am healthy! Let me tell you, that’s a lot to be thankful for!! 9. I’m really thankful that Bubba got into the school he wanted and it’s in Georgia so he won’t be flying back and forth to Texas!! 10. And I’m thankful he also got a grant!!! Woo Hoo!! 11. Which means in 2006 I will have 3 in college….Big D, who is getting his Masters, Bubba who is getting a degree in Radiation Therapy, and Miss Priss will be enrolling in her Freshman year!!! Yes, I am thankful for this!! 12. For my blog! If it hadn’t been for my friend DeWayne who has one, I would never have happened upon this gem of journaling. I then would never have met so many wonderful people if it hadn’t been for “My Garden” and for that I am extremely thankful! 13. Last but certainly not least, I am thankful for Leanne who created Thursday Thirteen and brought all of us together!! You girl, are Dy - No - Mite! Links to other Thursday Thirteens!
