Bye 2005, Hello 2006!

It’s the last day of 2005 and all I can say is that this year has been a great one for this family. We have had many wonderful things happen and some not so wonderful things, but through them all we had each other. I have watched my husband excel in his work and I can’t tell you how proud I am of that man! I’ve watched my son overcome the extreme disappointment of getting a medical discharge from the Air Force and bounce back with ambition. And I’ve watched my little girl grow up into a beautiful, confident woman this year. She has made the biggest change of all and I have to say I am so very proud of her and a little sad, because she’s grown up so fast. I also made some changes this year and it all has been for good.

My outlook for 2006 is only bright! We have lots of exciting things to look forward to and of course I’ll blog away about them! And speaking of my blog, thanks to each of you who stop by and indulge me. I have found so many new and interesting friends through this venue that I look forward to my visits with you everyday!

My wish for each and everyone of you is that your New Year be filled with Love, Joy and Peace! And I don’t think anything says it any better than the classic “Auld Lang Syne” so I leave you with the words of the familiar tune……

        Auld Lang Syne

          Should auld acquaintance be forgot

            and never brought to mind?

              Should auld acquaintance be forgot

and days of auld lang syne?

For auld lang syne, my dear,

                    for auld lang syne,

we’ll take a cup of kindness yet,

                        for auld lang syne.

                          Should auld acquaintance be forgot

                            and never brought to mind?

                              Should auld acquaintance be forgot

and days of auld lang syne?

And here’s a hand, my trusty friend

                                    And gie’s a hand o’ thine

                                      We’ll tak’ a cup o’ kindness yet

                                        For auld lang syne

                                        The Producers, A Must See!

If you go see any movie this weekend, you must go see “The Producers!” Big D and I saw it this evening and I can tell you, we loved it! Now Big D is not the song and dance type of guy, so I had to do some sweet talking to get him to go see this movie. A little bat of my eyes and I won him over!

I was a little worried in the beginning of the movie, it looked liked Big D was going to be bored, but Matthew Broderick and Nathan Lane came to the rescue! These two are hilarious and they play off each other naturally. Uma Thurman is beautiful and surprisingly funny in the roll of Ulla. Her wardrobe was one to be envied in this film, the gowns are gorgeous!

Will Ferrell is a scene stealer and should win a Oscar for his role! I’m not a big Will Ferrell fan but he was great in this film. He had us belly laughing, you know those big loud laughs that you just can’t help? Yeah, those! Big D said there were times he thought he was going to have to quiet me down!! LOL I don’t think I have ever laughed so much at a movie as I did with this one. If you want to laugh, go see “The Producers!” Even if you don’t like musicals….try it, you just might like it! Big D did! )
